WHEN THE ONLY CIRCLES YOU RUN IN
ARE BULL RINGS

so for those of you that missed my little fifteen minutes of fame at the Apple store yesterday, let me fill you in. after my 8 minute presentation on my work and talking about why i shoot what i do in nyc, i opened up the floor to a little q & a. . . and was met with nothing but the sound of quietly chirping crickets (which i pretty impressive considering how loud that Apple store usually is). so yeah, uh, well at least someone eventually asked what equipment i use. that was nice of them. next time i'm only showing photos of puppies and kittens dressed up in costumes. damn.

is there anything you wouldnt take a picture of? when you were little were you always taking pictures, or was photography something you got into when you were older?

  3. t,

no doubt, you like to downplay your successes - as any modest, normal, crusty punk would want to (ok, ok! but you're almost one) - but your photos were probably the most original there. i mean, the kid with the interiors was funny, and he takes a nice shot, but his work was strictly commercial and had no real-life appeal. your photos (as always) spoke for themselves as observations of, uhh, every day you live. and i heard 4 questions, not 1.

  4. hmm, how bout costumed puppies and kittens who have been run over by cars? Take your own interests and those of your public - meet somewhere in between. Nah, prob not a good idea.

  5. yeah there was more than one question, but the ones from the organizer (pity questions) don't really count. although they were appreciated. especially when he jokingly asked me if i had ever had someone threaten me for taking photos. . . who knew my brazil story would be related to a crowd in the Apple store someday? things are funny sometimes.
