IF PEOPLE'S SKIN REFLECTED EMOTIONAL WOUNDS LIKE BRUISES, THIS WORLD WOULD BE AN UGLY PLACE

bumsleep.jpg

man i wish i had something worthwhile to offer today, but like one of my college professors once told me during a critique: "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." whinin' and bitchin' get old fast (i have been told). so instead: here's a toast to skipping town, for a long time. the only surefire remedy for what ails ya that i know of. goddamn am i f*cked if it ever fails me.

relatedly, does anyone know of:
A) a cool friend in tokyo.
B) a good japanese travel agency.
C) a place to sell old worn-in vintage jeans and the like in tokyo (gotta raise some $ while traveling).
D) any contacts at magazines and/or galleries that might be receptive to looking at a portfolio.
E) if it really is okay to sleep in the parks over there.
F) recommended places to visit while in japan, ie. crazy islands or cloud forests or things really naturally amazing/unusual/surreal.

MP3:

here's a kinda unusual Weezer Homie track, my favorite by far. "afraid to close my eyes goin' to bed, afraid you'd crack the phone down over my head." yep, been there.
*UPDATE: my "music nerd" roommate cleared up the nature of this Rivers Cuomo Weezer-sounding track. check the comments. he's a nerd all right, the kind that can break you in half by accident. kind of a confusing dichotomy really.

• Homie - American Girls

buy music, especially independent.

  1. "if it's really ok to sleep in parks" hahaha... and I know you really mean it! I don't know people in there, but I know I must have some relatives somewhere...

  3. your music nerd roommate here to clear up some misleading information. the track "american girls" is actually by a group called Homie, which is indeed a project of Rivers Cuomo (weezer), who also wrote the song and has been know to perform live. they recorded some songs for some soundtracks and such. i believe Homie also contains/contained other members of Weezer and Soul Coughing. but i may be wrong. good song though.

  5. i think that mr. rattlesnake forgot to say "BOOYAH" at the end of his paragraph...while perhaps making some wild hand gesture in your face. (i doubt he would ever do that, but, it would be funny none the less)

  6. It also contains the first (real) guitarist from CAKE.

  7. CONFIRMATION--> Track consists of Rivers, old Cake guitarist, and one of the Soul Coughing guys, I think Mark De Gli Antoni on keys.
