photos from saturday's Black Label "Banana Hammock" spandex-only party. you can see the rest of them here.

also, if you're feelin' photos from the weekend, you can see friday's Critical Mass + after party here.

okay i normally don't condone sending hate mail, but this is probably one of the better exceptions i can think of in recent history. a company that steals street artists images and puts them on t-shirts (info page here). t-shirts which are named after the street artists whose work was ripped off. therefore not only taking the images themselves, but using the artists hard-won reputations to help sell them. so fuck 'em, send all the hate mail you can muster HERE (jw@0009.org). it can make a difference if they get deluged with, er, "complaints." thanks to Wooster Collective for heads up on this.

for some reason, when looking at the photos from saturday night, this song came to my head. it's really good too.

  1. fucking awesome.

how could anyone come to a party like this, see everyone glammed the fuck out, and still stand around in normal 'cool' clothes? i love those chumps in the background, they stick out so much.

i mean, if you had just heard about the party 5 minutes prior, you cant do much, but i think removing your pants/finding something stretchy would make you look like less of a loser.

  8. As for the t-shirt people "stealing" street art... GOOD FOR THEM!

Street artist's feel that the pblic space all belongs to them -- they can do anything they want to it, no matter what the taxpayers of the area say. Well, then that means their "art" is publicly owned as well, if they want to play by those rules.

Big babies crying foul when the tables are turned on them... wah. Suck it up and drop the hypocrisy.

  9. Wow, "anonymous," good job at missing the point. It's not about street art being off limits, it's about ANYONE'S art being stolen to be made into a product, regardless of where one sees it. Gotta move that chip on your shoulder out of the way a bit to see things a bit more clearly.

And way to come to the party a few years late.
